Well I'm a bit jealous. My husband found this sign this week on our anniversary trip to the coast and I didn't find anything nearly as cool. The question is... Any idea when it was produced and what it's worth? Double sided porcelain 30" sign - definitely original. Normal wear at points of contact, one chip in the display field on one side, 3 extra holes drilled in rim for a non-original ring (I think). All in all, probably the nicest unrestored original sign I've ever seen other than properly stored NOS. Oh, and this is the "bad" side with the chip on the I.

Blessings,
Heather

WOW!! Double WOW!

That's a new one to me. Never seen one before and I'm sure in it's pristine condition to an Associated Collector I could easily see 4 figures ($1,000+) from that sign! Great find! I encourage you to also post it in the sign gallery also on this forum.

Early 30's and in the 3k range. I have one not quite as nice and a map from 32 showing the logo and a list of 24 hour stations, great find.

Thanks Neil. That's what I was wanting to find out, since there doesn't seem to be a date stamped in it. It also answered the question of what was meant by night lubrication. Is there any possibility of getting a picture or scan of the map?

And for the private messages... thank you for your interest but my husband is not looking to sell it at this time. I'll be sure to post in the proper forum when/if he does.
