I picked this up at a local auction. Just wondering about the value. It has a brass case so I need to remove the paint

From other thermos on sale with Ebay, I'd place the value closer to $500 depending on condition of the case and functionality!

In my opinion these thermometers are very under appreciated in the hobby. Your Thermo has a paper face and brass case. Some of them had convex glass cover. Some had a flat glass. Very few survived in good condition, as you could imagine that if this thermometer was left outdoors for 1 rainy day, the paper face would of certainly get wet. If sunlight shined down on it for a couple months it faded out. I'm not a wolfs head expert, but would date your Thermo pre 1920. THe bad news is that if you decided to sell you may get lucky and find a wolfs head collector who would pay more for it due to shock value, unfortunately a chipped up porcelain prestone would probally bring more money. I doubt this would fetch more than $150 on eBay, I would like to be wrong! This is the second wolfs head I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing!

There is green paint on the outer glass around the edge and that part of the face is fine. Looks bad in pure. I'll have to repost when I get to cleaning it up.

I bought this one a couple months ago and it advertises the KUNZ oil company. It has some molding on the paper from getting wet but I like it anyway! I went on Ebay looking for comparables to determine value and found some that were of the same manufacturer for $400 to $650. Now these that I found were pretty nice but it gave someone else'e opinion of value!
Heres one that they claim is from 1918 and they want $650 for it! Its not really in the best shape either! Ebay--400200866214
