It is time for a new installment of "Globe of the Month"

This months edition is going to be Nouns............. Person, Place or Thing.

We will start with Ben Franklin - Statesmen, Inventor, Founding Father of our Country, one of the authors and signers of the Declaration of Independence, as well as the person featured on the very popular $100 bill.

Next is the Somerset globe from Somerset, Kentucky. Somerset is town of about 12,000 people located in the center of the state.

Last but not least is the the "thing" globe. Miniamax used the really cool looking balance scale to promote the value of their gasoline.

Lets see ALL your globes that feature a person, place , or thing! Even if you have posted them before in another feature please share them again. We all enjoy looking at globe pictures!

Thanks!

Lonnie & Aaron

Here are mine the MFA might be a stretch but since it stands for Missouri Farmers association and it comes from Missouri I figured it would count.

Originals only for me. Always looking for Simpson oil, Super A, and MFA oil cans and globes.

Great looking globes everyone!

To me the Rainbow globe is arguably one the best globes every made, the colors, the car, the station scene, it just has eveything going for it.

That said, I find all globes interesting, the Lion Gasoline is tough globe to find and very desirable and yes Shawn the MFA shield is a thing, thanks for posting everyone!

Aaron and I are heading to the Matthews Auction tomorrow and the Chicagoland Show Saturday and Sunday. Hope to have some new pictures for globe of the Month from them two events.

In the meantime here are a couple of place globes. The Western Hemisphere is prominently featured on each of them.

Post them if you have them!

Thanks!

Lonnie & Aaron

Since I collect Ethyl Logo globes, I don't really have any 'Noun' globes in my actual collection.

But I do have this one in the 'business' collection. This is one lens of only two known. As you can see, it spent quite a bit of time underground or in water. Still a very kewl globe though!

Later . . .
