My name is Lynn Senesac and I live in Lafayette,IN. One of my favorite pumps is the Rush because they were made in my home town. I need your help. I have two Rush model D-1's and I would like to find out how many others are out there. You will not find the D-1's in any books and I haven't seen any in collector's collections, magazines or swap meets.
Jack's book has the model C-1 but it has a different bezal and the corners are chrome plated. The bezal is taller and not as wide as the D-1. I have been told of one in south east Indiana and I saw one in Paris, Ill. but it was not complete. So far those are all I know about. The serial numbers on my pumps are 30488 and 30506.
I would love to see just how many of these are out there. The castings for the hose are different on my pumps, one has brass and the other has cast iron.One has brass bezels and the other is pressed steel.

Lynn, Welcome aboard. I was just thinking about you today. It's been some time since we've spoken. Hershey, two years ago? Saw Uncle Jim at Scottsdale....The pumps are very nice, Great style and streamline looks. Rush pumps were always ahead of the trend. Best regards, Paul www.severngaspumps.com

I have literature that shows the C-1's being made in 1936 so I would think the D-1 was made in that same time frame.

If I end up selling one you will have first chance. Not sure what one is worth if I do sell. When I posted this request I thought I would find out that several of these pumps exist. Apparently not. This post has had over 400 views and so far nobody has seen one. Lynn

Still looking for another Rush D-1 Gas Pump. I entered this post in March of 2012 and so far it has had 843 views but know one has claimed to have seen one or have one. Still love to find out if someone else has seen one. More imprtantly, I would like the serial number because I would like to have an idea how many were made. So far going by the serial numbers on my two pumps they only made 18. I'm sure they made more than that.
