Randy, I believe AL has been studying the toppers from Tidewater for awhile now. So you might contact him.. Too many good looking fakes out there for me to feel comfortable unless I know the person who is selling the item....

Hope not for someones sake! $316 with 6 hours to go! Expensive topper I guess.

i think its real..i have seen another one at iowa gas before and sold for north of $300.000...i`ve been trying to do some research on toppers but haven`t found too much info,,but i`ll keep working on it..i have 2 toppers that i haven`t seen before,maybe i`ll post pictures if anyone is interested,,txs alan

here are the other 2 toppers that are original...the V ONE I GOT FROM A LONG TIME COLLECTOR NORM PENNIE IN VANCOUVER,,HE HAS A ONE THAT IS UNMOLSTED,,I GOT MINE FROM HIM WHICH ALL THE COLORS WERE GONE AND RUSTED SO I JUST PAINTED IT,,I`M NOT TALENTED ENOUGH TO DO THE DETAILS ON THE WINGS,SI I LEFT IT LIKE THIS,,THE OTHER ONE IS A LATER STYLE AND GOT IT FROM A TOPPER COLLECTOR HERE ON OLD GAS..JUST SHAREING THESE WHICH YOU DON`T SEE TOO OFTEN..TXS ALAN

Hard to say with that particular stamping. I've seen many different brands using it and many of those were suspect to my eye. I'm not an expert by any means, but if I have the slightest doubt any more, I turn away. I try to stick with what are obviouslt authentic/old.
