Hi all;
I'm new here. Found this place a few weeks ago and just joined today. Looks like a very cool place. Right now I have a very small collection of oil cans but I'm looking to expand. Found this site about a week after the gas bash in Santa Ynez. I live just south of there in Goleta, CA. Wish I had known, I would have been there. I've been looking all around this area for any service station collectibles. Not much around here any more. But today I got lucky. Thought of a place were I mite find something. Found 47 one quart card board oil cans.All full, some starting to leak but all in very good condition. None of the cans are real old but they'er nice. The best thing about them is Igot them all for FREE. I'm draining the ones that are leaking. Should I drain the others ? And what is the best way to preserve cans, tin and card board ? I've got what was a realy nice Falcon oil can. I must have put it in to much light. The red on the can faded.
Anyway, it's great to be here.

Dave

Dave,

Welcome to Oldgas!

Give me a call 805-688-9874. You're welcome to come up to Solvang and visit. For a first time gas bash we had a great time.

I can probably help you add to your can collection and you're welcome to see mine.

Curt

Hi all;
Thanks for all the replies. I'm sure I've found the right place for this hobby. Curt, I'll give you a call in a few days. I'd really like to come up and see your collection. Some day I would like to get a pump. My problem is I live in a moblehome. Not much room and the landlord dosen't want stuff like that out side. So for now I'm going wiht smaller stuff.Well that's about it for now. Oh, Tom Thanks, draining can right now.
Thanks again.

Dave
