L C , if you were to actually "Google " Shorpy.com's site , he seems to have a lot of the shots with addresses listed and sometimes , the year a peticular shot was taken . I spent some time on his site and lo an behold , I found a house I rented back in the vary early 1970's I rented in Washington D.C's North West area . It was taken in the mid 1920's . Many of the service stations featured in Shorpys photos can be seen in a vauge way in Washington D C too. I know the actual service stations are gone, still, the houses next door often remained . Thats kind of a unique thing about D C . They will go in tear out one existing structure and build on a lot . it's commonly done on K street NW just over the famous 14th street Bridge . Go South and suddenly, you're in Down Town Arlington Virginia . Ed Shaver
