I am thinking about buying this pump. What would be a reasonable offer as I do not want to offend the seller.

Does it have both doors? and are both pump plate there? If so i would say $6-800.00

Scott--Stop and think here! Thats an old dial indicator type farm/commercial pump that didn't have to register sales. It only had to keep track of the gallons for the owner. Very plain pump and not highly sought after. The pump plates in good condition are worth $100 to $125 each, so thats $250 if both plates are there and throw in another $150 for the pump and you're at $400 and that is all this pump would be worth. Jack Sims book values it at $150 and thats probably enough! Made in 1954

I thought the plate would bring around 200.00 each. and the pump i thought around 2-3. i did look in the book on the pump you are right kevin on the pump.

Lmao! Come on Kevin.... How many of those do you have in your collection? That's the Rare model!

They make an attractive little pump when you don't have much room and they are easy to restore when theres no trim or computers to mess with but most collectors will opt for a computer pump with a touch of bling.
With all the work and money involved in a restoration, I'll save my time for something just a bit different.

Thanks to everyone who replied. This would be my first restore. Right now I am not looking for the "bling", I just want to get my feet wet so to speak. All said and done, if I can come home with this pump for $600 to $700 would I have made a good deal? And, this is the most important thing really, I would like to try and bring a pump home.... Not this particular pump, but really want to try and have something that I could display nicely and not look at it thinking I could have done better for less $$.

I have just read what I posted a minute ago, and am pretty sure that I have answered my own question. The pump is worth what I am willing to pay.

That pump is defiantly not a Wayne 70.

*****, just when I thought I had my head around things. This may be a dumb question (please note my registered date, still quite green), does this affect the value a great deal?

It looks to me like a MS 70, cut down with some kind of a non calculating clock cut into the door. It may have been done at a bulk plant or by somebody that worked at a bulk plant. Maybe they used the Wayne 70 pump inside it? Not sure why it has a Wayne id tag on it.

At 6-700 dollars, I would call that far from a great deal. But then again, who is to say that I am correct.

It sure does have an MS70 top on it, doesn't it!
It doesn't affect the value of that pump though.
The pump is worth no more than $150 (pump alone) and that is being generous!

I had one of these.wayne bought out M&S in 51,and I believe this was one of the transitional pumps. Mine looked all original,and not cut down.sold it for two hundred.not a good deal at 700.00
