Nope. That's a false front and the brick in the center of the medallion matches all the rest of the brick on the facade.

Actually, the building was already pretty fancy what with the multiple hanging sconce lights (6 in total) and the fanlights above the three exterior doors.

Also a 30" Texaco sign would explain why, in the photos, the sign doesn't seem to fill the medallion.
