I'm new to this but learning. I think I just bought my first fake sign. Paid $113. After recieving it I noticed it felt somewhat thin compared to all my other stuff. And if you look at the red print on the sign, you will notice that it was applied twice and the two processes were not in alignment. There is an offset. Hope it shows up in these pics. Well check it out. What do you think?
The damage at the right rivot happened during shipping. It was actually completely smashing in from the edge. I hammered it back flat. But that is why there is little to no rust there.

it does look a little fishy, i do know the original one are somewhat thin also, i want to say yours looks real. but i could be wrong.

think you bought a real sign.

but IMO paid plenty for it in that condition.

I also think it's a real sign. The Sinclair pump plates are thin for some reason. Usually, with the fake ones the back isn't porcelain and you can see the "rack" marks from when they fired it.
Your sign is real.

I BELIEVE THE ROUNDED CORNERS ARE A GIVE-AWAY CORRECT?

Here is one that i know is 100% real. Doc's right about the round corners and they are thin.

Wow!! Well looks like I may have paid a bit much but it's nice to know that it is at least real. It must have just been made on a Friday after lunch, LOL!!!

It's a lot like any printing on paper or stickers from the time - you'll find them kind of screwy like - lots of misalignment as it was mainly done by hand. Heck - check out any old license plates - wow! Personally I think it gives them more character unlike the computer typeset stuff now.

Here's a sign that I know is authentic and it looks OK from a distance. At first I thought blue paint smear on the left edge was odd and there's even some on the back. I was just glad to get it. After looking at it a little more, I realized the entire blue stencil had shifted or slipped in a counter clockwise direction. It also indicates that blue was the last color applied. It must have been Friday at the end of shift because QUALITY wasn't OK, haha.
