Well I, like a lot of you fellow collectors have a hard time asking questions or for an opinion, but on this one I need advise, I talked to a couple collectors yesterday and to Ron Scobie before he left for Iowa, what I have in that Bowser clockface I just bought is not a 310 like I though but a 311 or one half of it, I could go ahead and build it as that (310) and git by. the only difference in them is the base, and the center casting for the sheet metal which is flat on one side so the skin will be off , rounded at the bottom and squared at the top, but close enough to look good on display , or I can clean it , search for parts , or have them cast after takeing it apart, theres a big difference in the selling price if I ever wanted to sell as a double, but I will have to put some more money in it to make it a double, let me hear your opinions , what would you do ???? I'll show pictures n a little while, [This message has been edited by Dwaine Buck (edited 08-07-2003).]

Double! You have the money... sell something! Wait and do it as a double. No, hurry and finish it before I get there. I want to see a double!
I remember the good old days when gold was worth more than rust!

Dwaine, if I understand you right, your base and the center casting are cut or broken on the pump you bought? If so, you'd probably want to get some new castings to use. I have a Bowser 310 that's unrestored right now that you could use for molds for your castings. If I were in your shoes, I'd try to find someone that had a double pump to borrow the castings from. I think you'd be much happier. ------------------ Don "oltoydoc" Sherwood Vintage Gas

I have everything I need to get parts case to make it a double except the base, as you see in the picture its long , what I would have to do is have two single bases put togather then you would know how wide to make the spacer between the two pump heads , everything else can be made just in reverse. O K , a double it is , now I'll contact the parts kings to see if they might have parts so I don't have to have molds made, thanks guys . and thanks Don. I willbe missing the clock mechanism on one side but as Larry said , I can have a dummy one made up just for the faces and dials , I will do it in Gilmore , cream and blood red, thanks agin,
