Earlier in the week their was some discussion about 16" globes. There is an antique store in Lincoln, NE that has a 16" Mobil globe for sale--$750. I don't know much about globe values, but here is the link for anyone interested. http://www.bargainjohn.com/g089bGasGlobe.htm

That globe dates from as early as 1934 when Socony-Vacuum started using Mobilgas globes with the Pegasus on them. Not a bargain price, but not unreasonable either. It books for $500-$750 (those are 1999 prices). The globe book rates it as a #4 in rarity which means Rare, few known to exist. Thanks for the heads up.
Wanted: Gas pump globes:Sinclair & affiliates, IL companies. Ripple bodies. Anything Sinclair, Stoll, Pierce, 4 Bros. http://www.lastgas15.com/

I bought a 15" Mobilgas on a low profile 2 years ago just like that one for $500 and is perfect off ebay. That should be a $500-$600 globe.
Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

JJ, Although the globe book lists the 15" version as a #4 in rarity its more common, and probably only a #3 in rarity. You just don't see the 16 1/2" versions very often. Prices have been stagnant on globes like this for several years. I'd still rate the 16 1/2" version at $500-$750 and the 15" version a little less, probably in the range you said or maybe a little higher. If someone needs a 16 1/2" Mobilgas globe $750 is still a reasonable price. The way things are going it will still be a $750 globe 2 or 3 years down the road. Globes like this just don't appreciate much.
