Hi, my wife and I have the opportunity to purchase this very, very tall visible gas pump tomorrow. We don't have any pumps now so I don't know much about them. I think this is a Wayne 651 and they are wanting only $250. I noted there is no base, nozzle, hose or hose hook and they told me it is not glass in the top. With that said, I think it still is a killer deal for that price. Hopefully I can get a few of you pros to give me your thoughts. Thanks & happy collecting! smirk

That is a bargain. I would buy it for 3 times that price easy.

If the skins are not rusted out along the bottom it is a good price. Richard

$250? Skip breakfast and get over there quick. Rust or no rust I would pay that every day.

For a newbie like me, Is there specifics I should look for that affect value? Or any thing else like that? We bought an 1884 Ludlow fire hydrant from these same nice folks last week for $175.

scratch that x-tra zero coheley5. $250 is their price. Their kids want nothing to do with any of their old stuff. Crazy! Between the fire hydrant and this pump, I'm excited to see what else they have! On top of that, they are very cool and said they'll take us to a nice greasy burger joint in town and have lunch and a beer!

Yes that is a great deal and you should hop on that and the other things that they might have but you are learning about the best part of this hobby right from the start. It's the people that you meet and share some time with that are the very best part of it all!! I love hearing the stories of why they collected something or somethings and of what they remember seeing and feeling when they were kids that really hooked them into collecting.
Have a BLAST and get some great stuff at the same time!!
