I'm having some repops done on the ceramic "bushings" used on some of the older neon signs. These are 1" i.d. by 7/8" tall, but have "pierced ear" extensions at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock by which they are actually through-bolted to the procelain sign face. I just need one for my Auto-lite sign... simliar to the one that Amistadi (sp?) had on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7152190173&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 last month... though he used contemporary glass bushings in his restoration.
I dont know if these type of bushings were standard for the vintage or by Walker & Son sign company, or just this particular sign. It's worth a special casting for the condition and originality of my sign, but wanted to know if anybody else was looking for some of these while I'm at it.
Anybody? Dan?
Let me know... Brian
