Last Night on American Pickers, the guys were looking at a visible pump. It said Flying A on the globe but it was yellow and black, the guy wanted 2000 but they guys said that was too much. Anyone know of this type of globe? I didn't find it in the globe book?

Was it a new episode? Has a new season started? I do not get the channel so I search the internet for them.

IF the owner had said $500, the Butt Holes would have offered 1/2.

I thought I would try that this month. I just got my power bill and I am going to send them half and tell GA Power I can't pay that much . How do they expect me to save money that way. I know they will turn my power off. That is how stupid it sounds when people say there is no meat on the bone for me.

I think if you see it again and look closely it was a glass body with the artwork painted on it. It caught my eye too and I'm pretty certain it was painted on. It looked pretty crude in the close ups.

Bob, Was the globe a "Chicken wing"?

I've not seen any Associated globes that were "yellow and black"...

Steve, the Oldgas filter won't let me express what I want to say to you, about your comments about the Associated Oil color pallet... LOL

I don't watch "pickers". As such, without an image; I am guessing. Based on what I've read here; I suspect Darin is correct. And there is a good possibility that the globe was "home made/painted"... My research does not show Associated ever using "Yellow and Black" as their Corporate color scheme.

Before they sold gasoline Associated's colors were Orange and Black. But unlike Tydol they were never Yellow and Black. (or atleast my research shows no advertising nor maps using Yellow and Black)

If anyone out there can make the damn episode video work, and you know how to use "print screen", then you can pause the video, take a print screen image of the pump, maybe crop it, and post it here for all to see.
Unfortunately I was unable to make the damn video work. I dont know if you have to sign up to the damn history channel site or what!!!!

Bob, I was of course only kidding. That green aint no Sunoco blue, but it all cool!!!!

...I'll be %$#@ if I'm going to sift through all of the Peckers' shows on their website, but if you'll tell me what episode featured the offending Flying A globe, I'll post a picture of it...

The episode was called "pinch picker". It just aired this past Monday.
My system seems not to like the entire page. I'm using explorer but the page loads with errors and then I can't watch the video.

The globe looked as if it was hand painted, uneven lines and the painting didn't fit the globe size.

...well, the website prompted me to 'log in with (my) TV provider' to watch the episode...I don't have cable/dish, so it's not happening...there is a freeware program called VLC that you can use to screengrab a frame from video...
