...someone had these at Columbus...
...I cropped two of the photos from the ebay auction, to illustrate the problems with these bottles...
FIRST PHOTO: the Hudson logo is flattened from left to right (it's not a circle like it should be), and the label is loaded with 'computer lettering'...
SECOND PHOTO: notice that 'GUARANTEED' is spelled correctly in large letters, but incorrectly in the white box (look closely)...this is someone poorly typing, not someone setting type by hand in a 1940's art department...
...the labels are just digital color output (i.e., from Kinko's) with some dirty motor oil rubbed into the paper...
Just sent this to the seller:
"Sir -
Your Hudson bottles are fakes - someone had a few of them at the Columbus swap meet in June. Some crafty individual with little talent and even less scruples made up some labels on his computer (and misspelled 'guaranteed' as 'guranteed' on the backs in his haste), printed them out, and stuck them on some jars. After stamping the lids (by hand - they would NOT have been done this way for mass production) he greased everything up so it would look 'old'. Don't know if these came out of a barn or not, but they weren't there for more than a few months at best. Hopefully you didn't get taken for too much when you bought them."
