Thanks in advance,i have a clean vendo 39 i bought 2 years ago,spent its whole life in a autoshop.Today i cleaned it and have it plugged in,its running and is cold and getting colder.My Q's is how long should and can it run for,its been running for 3 hours now.Is that normal?Will it hurt to leave it running overnight.thanks again, Mike

I have an unrestored original Vendo 39 as well... I would say for a machine to run that long you might want to check the thermostat out. I would hate for your original compressor to burn up. I would say about an 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours to cool... IF EMPTY and Bottles are stocked...

The machines were designed to run practically forever. They almost never were unplugged when in use. What kills the compressor is letting it sit for a long time unplugged and unused. After sitting for a long time and now being put back into use you may have some issues, but if it's been running and cooling for three hours you're probably good.

Now I have to admit that I plug and unplug my machine all of the time because they suck power like a small town, and so far it keeps running.

The fan in the cabinet runs full time,but the lower fan should shut off when it reaches the correct temp,if not it will burn out the compresser.My vendo 56 runs for about a hour on initall start up,but then cycles accordinly.If it dosen't shut off at all or stats to freeze things,just throw a thermostat in it.

thanks,thats what i was thinking a T-stat.Got ahold of a great website called http://www.thesodajerkworks.com/ they have over 20 years in the bizz.Out of Clovis CA.hE SPENT AN HOUR WITH ME ON THE PHONE TODAY,GREAT GUY.

The guy you talked to has done a lot of work and supplied parts for my brothers Vendo collection. He's a great guy from what my brother says and he has a good supply of parts if you are restoring a machine.
