Why do people buy signs on ebay and the second it arrives at their house, they put it back on ebay. They should wait until it no longer appears in completed listings or doesn't appear in their feedback. They also buy and sell on the same account. Redhotrelics,luckyrodandkustom.

that is why they only sell buy-it-now, too much risk in losing their butt on a normal auction. its reflected in their asking prices... and its also reflected in their completed sales... mostly red.

they may make a couple thousand a month doing it, but they have to hold tens of thousands in inventory to do so. and they could probably make two to three times as much if they just spent that effort on a normal career type job.

the best way to do it is like Ebay seller littleshanno... he lives near me and buys tons of signs, has bought a lot of mine as well. he lists everything as a no reserve auction starting at 9.99

but to each his own!

I wouldn't publicly endorse littleshanno...that seller is known to sneak in repro/fantasy pieces in with the real stuff.

Every entrepreneur uses a business model that suits their needs and in their opinion works best for them. Not all business models are designed to maximize sales and profits. Some vendors can afford to sit on large amounts of inventory with little or no desire to move vast amounts of inventory. I guess they consider themselves to be collector's of some sort; but, at a different level.

Both of the above noted sellers must be making money (if that is their intentions) or else they would have folded by now.

After I read the other post about the Mobil Aviation sign; all I can say is that:

You think these sellers would think that some buyers are sophisticated enough to check feedback for purchases. Definitely, not a way to instill confidence in the minds of your potential customers. No matter what your business model is; No one likes to feel like they are getting ripped off in the process of lining your pockets with profit.

i did not endorse him (and never mentioned his items), i simply said that his method is the most effective for moving/selling on ebay. people spend more when its auction style, makes it a competition and makes them feel like they're getting a deal. but it definately comes with a risk, ive personally watched littleshanno lose money on signs he has bought from me (and make money too).

most of these sellers are young guys, they'll eventually find a woman that will make them get a job w/ sustainable income, haha.

better question would be...... why does that Nit Wit insist on putting his picture in every auction?

best thing about it is when I see his face I know I don't have to open The auction page.

littleshanno is doing a numbers game. Makes money on some items, looses money on other items, but in the end he is in the +.
I have seen him buy at an auction so I know what he paid for the item. Puts it on ebay and looses money on that item.

We do and that's why we are having a discussion about it.

If you don't care than pass on by to the next thread. What you have posted is a waste of everyone's time that has to read it. In no way does it add to this discussion. Maybe it's more intelligent just not to post something that doesn't add anything to the thread at hand. Or, if you have a great need to post, then think about the topic at hand, consider your position and then in a constructive manner add to the thread.

Thanks Dave was going to say the same thing. It looks like they are a couple of new members trying to stir things up.

People who watch ebay close know whats going on.....it is very easy to spot. But for most people who dont look thats who these sellers are after. They buy repros and originals and test the market. There are always going to be flippers, its the nature of the beast... and recently this site has been flooded with them. If you notice most of the items posted are all off condition.

I couldn't agree more with you...condition is down and prices are up and at times even unrealistic.

Same as members here buying an item then posting in the Value Thread Asking what it's worth. WHY? Do they Think/Hope that they Stole the item?
IF They didn't Think it was a good/reasonable Deal, WHY did they buy it?
