Hello All, I was hoping someone here would have an idea on the value of this sst Fisk tires sign. The sign measures 2ft x 6ft and has a wood frame. The sign also retains it's orignal erecting instructions on the back with wood back supporting frame. Thanks
Wanted anything Flying A Gas, Signal Gas, Hancock oil co, and Sunland.
Thanks Anthony

Ray, No it's not embossed, but where the blue is it appears to have small pieces of glass like 80 grit sandpaper.

I don't know the value. But the glass grit is the way they used to make reflective paint, Cliff

Estimates are too low
Sign is circa 20s-early 30s with glass smaltz(?) paint in what looks like NOS condition.
$1000+ IMO

All the black area in this one is like what your saying, like a sparkly glass sandpaper grit. I was very lucky to be able to touch this one and it's like the sign will shred your finger as your running it across it. The picture does not do it justice at all esp. when sunlight shines on it. Very cool, old survivor Fisk sign you have there and I have no idea where the market is or isin't for these but your condition is great!

Thanks everyone for the info.
The lady I bought the sign from also had a book with photo's of the store were the sign hung in the 20's. The second photo is the same store in the 30's after it was remodeled. It was in the early thirtys when here father placed the sign in the basement of the same building then were it stayed for the last 70+ years. The last photo is a close up of the glass texture. Thanks a again and I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did.

I have a Shoe Company sign with the texture of this and its from 1910 or so, as early as 1893 I am told and as late as 1925...The years the company was open...
Your Fisk sign is the same age...but much more valuable than my shoe sign. Very impressive item. If the frame is all original, I think you have something that would be hard to price because there are no examples...but 1k and up for sure.

There is a similar sign that sold last year however it didn't have the extra "F" and white outlining yours has.
The one last year sold at Matthews for $700+ premium & tax, and I think that was well bought.
Yours definitely would be worth $1000+ to serious tire sign collectors. Of course if it had the sleepy boy we'd be talking another story.
Collecting anything keeps you young at heart!
