Guys(or gals), A local service station has an old Firestone fridge in it's waiting area that looks like it's from the 30'-40's. I can't get a pic of the fridge because it will set off alarms with him and may hurt my dealing position with him. Anybody on here know anything about this old fridge? It does have a little rust along the bottom, but the rest of it is in pretty fair shape....the beer they had in it sure was cold! Jeff

Time for creativity!
Have him pose for a pic with something else and make sure the fridge is in the background.
Or get his permission to take a pic of something else and fridge in the pic also!

I find it is always better to be upfront and honest. Ask him if he wants to sell it, then if you can take a picture.

FBEye,

Unless you are trying to be devious, just be upfront with the guy. If he's got stuff you're interested in buying say so. Ask if you can take pictures for reference. If he says no, respect the guy and don't be sneaky.

As for the refrigerator itself, Firestone and many other retail stores would have lines of products for sale in their stores that were made by other companies but with the retail name on them. Firestone had appliances, radios, and other household goods they never manufactured themselves but contracted them to be built. The guts would be identical but the outward appearance would be altered in design and/or color scheme.

A couple years ago I bought an old Firestone radio antenna out of a local antique store, it had been in that store used for the store radio back in the 30s/40s and was still attached to the wall.

Guys thanks for the info...he does not want to sell it....says it is a fixture in the place. I would not want to buy it knowing it means that much to him. Happy hunting people!!
