Number 1 . the oil from that area is a better quality oil for owr refinerys , the oil from this land is a thickeroil and takes more money to pump it ,even the oil from Alaska was heated just to git it to move ,so its cheaper to import,and you can thank owr companys, in 1946-47, a oil group headed by Signal oils a part of Standard by then took drilling teams to sadia Arabia, the companys was Hancock ,Wilshire ,Richfield/Rio grande, Texaco ,and they stayed over there till 1967 , its all in a book called," Little Giant of Signal Hill" , just sold my last copy to a collector in Oregon ,you can find it in your libary, but many copies were given to Signal employees when they retired after they got back I have sutch a book ,signed by Sam Mosser,
