...those of you who signed - thanks for participating! If you haven't signed the petition yet, please do so...at LEAST look at the photos, this is a beautiful, extremely well-preserved station, it needs to be preserved...
...this petition was set up by preservation-minded individuals in Washington, NC - I just happened upon it after a buddy sent me a link about a restaurant thereabouts...those of you that haven't been to 'Little Washington' (actually named BEFORE D.C.), they have a beautiful old downtown district right on the Pamlico River...a LOT has been renovated/saved already by forward-thinking people...
...I stopped at the station last time I was in Washington, back when it was still being used as a garage...neat place!
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

There is no reason why every member of this forum cannot support this petition. I urge the forum moderator to contact every registered member of this forum to join in the signature of this petition.
I do not want to see historical buildings such as this demolished, particularly one as beautiful as this.

Is there a way to get an article into PCM or CTO magazines? If this station is lost, that will be the end of the best Pure cottage there is.

...Wes, I was scrolling down the list of signees, and saw Wayne Henderson listed...so I'm sure he knows, but you're right, either of the/both magazines would be a good place to highlight this station...

Lets hope they can save this old station. It' one of the most intact, right down to the copper gutters,flashings and bay window. Once it's gone it ain't coming back. good luck;;;;;;;;;Ron Lease--#181

Hemibird, if they were to move it it would not be dissasembled. They would dig under it, jack it up on hydraulic jacks(those huge heavy duty ones) and then put hydraulic wheels on it and hook it up to a tractor trailer. They had a thing on the discovery channel of a couple companies that only relocate buildings and etc. They showed them moving an old movie theater that was 3 floors and the exterior was all brick, lighthouses, and a bunch of other stuff. Kind of cool I think how they can move a 3 floor all brick building and set it in place at a new location without hurting it. So having that relocated wouldnt be a problem at all for those companys.
