When i got my dog pump there was a smelly thing in the yard by the shops, I said whats that and the Guy said it was a porcupine that had knocked over a dump truck wheel and tire and pinned and killed the beast. You never know what you will see when pump hunting, he also had a Coke water cooler turned into a parts washer. The Dog pump came from a station near there , i remember when it was still there, probably got tore down 20 yrs ago...dodogas

I am trying to work from memory, but years ago there was a famous painting with the three Scotties and the title was "LISTEN." Texaco adopted this in theie advertising. I have sold Texaco car window decals with the scotties and LISTEN below them. I have also seen a black door stop of the three Scotties with the word LISTEN embossed in the casting. A rare Texaco item. Maybe someone else can fill in the dates for all this.

I once had a 1934 Texaco map from New Zealand that had the 2 scottie dogs on it...so they are probably even earlier then that.

The listen campaign I believe was in the 20,s or 30,s,. There was an article ( or answer to a letter) in Mobilia a long while ago (before it turned into Modelia) It was to illustrate that your motor would run so quietly with Texaco oil that the dogs could hardly hear it..LISTEN..to the difference .. Sure miss the old Mobilia !!!

To continue the Dog theme....Sommers Oil Company in Colorado used the Owners dog "Cinders"..a black scottie looking dog as early as 1924 as a "logo" on their maps & cans and even had the dog logo painted on their station buildings...Their motto was "You won't Growl at Our Service"...
