Little story on how this came to be. Last fall I go to an old business about 6 miles from were I grew up. This business is an old repair shop out in the country and the gentlemen that owns it is in his 70's. I went to see what he had for old gas stuff if any. When I get there I tell him what I am looking for so he tells me he has been picked over by other people. But I ask if I can look around he shows me a few things and I buy couple old cans nothing special and a couple lubsters. He tells me he has a brass fire extinguisher but he is not sure were it is at. So I say when you find it give me call. Fast forward to this last Saturday I walk into a store in town and he is coming out he tells me he found the fire extinguisher so he says to come over on Monday today. I run up there expecting to just get the extinguisher. He lets me walk around alittle more and look around he lets me go into an older section of the building I look up only to find this sign covering on old stove hole in a chimney with a piece of lath across it. The thing is covered in soot and dust from how many years. He says he will sell it. So I get it and these other two gates signs that were hanging fifteen feet up on one wall in another room. Here are some before and after cleaned. Oh ya the fire extinguisher too.

Great story and find. Well that's two very nice signs found in and around stoves and pipes. I will need to keep the eyes peeled for signs behind the furnace, used as forms for concrete or lights on top of posts. It appears they can be repurposed for anything, porcelain is that durable.
