Kevin is right on. I, like others on here, adhered to the rules under this section and didn't ask publicly or privately if it was for sale, hoping it would be announced here first. since the info regarding it was asked here first. Oh well.

Looking for early valvoline, freedom-valvoline, franklin pa items, Galena

I'm just curious, if you hadn't gotten any valuation from this site, what would the ebay price have been then? whistle

The Guidelines for this Petroliana Value Questions forum category read as follows:
-----------------------
"Please do not post offers to buy, sell or auction items in this forum category. Posting a "PM sent" post will be considered a marker that you have sent an offer to buy and will also be a violation of this guideline.

As a courtesy to the members who do help with values, we ask that when you do decide to sell, to offer them in our For Sale forum or announce an eBay auction in our Online Auctions forum."
-----------------------

For some folks who want the favor of getting opinions on value, they feel they don't owe anything back, such as the courtesy of posting the sale availability of the item in our For Sale or Online Auctions forums.

Good for Old Gas to post the rules on this thread. I like to give folks the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the OP hasn't read the rules before, maybe the moderator will also send a nice reminder email to him as well.

i have noticed several usernames that almost only post on the values thread, i just choose to ignore those ones. forum only works if you give info and take info... problem is - there are a lot more taking without contributing.

Well I can say for myself I don't post much per example of the Abuse you receive from some of the Older Members that Feel they can Dump on just about everyone except a few of their close buddies, No matter where you post be it showcase/for sale section etc.!!

This is also a perfect example why, only for people I don't know, are not referred by a friend, or who don't get our magazine, I started charging for appraisals $25 per item for the free lip service. This really does not amount to a lot of people but I had to make a change. Too many times I help out and get led on like they are willing to sell it and bam, there I see it on eBay or another forum. Many people won't pay the $25 and often, I give many people I don't know free info anyway. But when you get several calls a day for value it takes up much of your time. Scott B.
