Hello.

Please help with an ID on this pump. It looks like a wayne 70 but it seems much shorter and I cannot find one in the book with the gas manifold at the very top without any ad glass. Also, even though the base is destroyed, it does not look as tall as a regular 70 base.

Is my mind playing tricks on me ? is this a regular old 70 ?

Is it possible that it is shorter or cut down ?

I have only the photos and have no access to the pump at this time or I would provide measurements.

Cut Down

Was this done by the factory or in the field ?

By a service company. Lots of pumps were cut down during & after WW2 to appear Modern. As metal was making it's way back into the manufacturing plants, new shorter & modern pumps were sent out to replace the cut down models. In turn these cut down pumps were re-used on farms.

Looks like a Wayne 60 manifold nut and glass on the last picture. Richard
