These motors are bi directional(can run either way),and even just unplugging and plugging in the same will make them run correctly. I have two that often start running backwards when the power goes out.
Looking for gas,oil related clocks, especially neon and spinners .clock repair available. Mick

I've got a clock here that will start to run backwards when first plugged in. Unplugging and re-plugging works for it.
DB has a problem with the Santa Anna winds making his clocks run fast.

There was a Miller clock that ran backwards in an old bar I used to go to years ago. Never knew what time it was until closing time, 2 AM. It always was right on for that!
