Found this pump today, its short, was it a clockface? Is signed G&B. Thanks.

Common farm dial face. Can be found for $150-300 complete rebuildable condition. If dial is missing $100.

BTW... would have been hooked to tank and filled tractors and other farm equipment w/gas or diesel depending on the operation. Whatever the local gas company you called out would have filled the tank. I suppose some farmers may have bought these or if big enough operation the local supplier might have installed it. Our family farm had an old hand crank above ground 500gal unit even though my uncle worked for the local Agway and probably could have had something like this installed.

I know you wouldn't KZ.. but we poor folks in the south never had the plethora or storage capacity of big barns you folks in Mass. and parts northeast.

I love getting back up to upstate NY as well, so many barns packed full of treasures for pennies. I recall a trip some years ago where the owners were having their yearly barn sale, this was the 5th year and the barn was pretty picked over. That being said, I walked out with an 1880s glass plate still camera with front lens for all of $40. So I can imagine a pump like this selling for $20 in those conditions.

Those are myths, the northeast is the same as everywhere else, most everyplace has been picked over. This pump is what it is no matter where you are in the country.

I saw a couple of these restored last year with amazing pearl paint jobs and a actual clock put into the face and they were asking $250 so I'd have to agree to the low end on these as I know the time and money spent to restore it wouldn't ever be recouped.
I couldn't imagine putting the work the guy did on the ones I saw and only getting 250 for that kind of effort.

Its true that most of us dont look twice at these types of pumps . But there are people that just want to own a "old gas pump". Pickens are a little slim these days for the weekend decorators on a beer budget. Some one will buy it for a hundred bucks, paint it mount a Sinclair dino globe or Texaco fire chief and then put a 650.00 price tag on it. Some couple will buy it and be happy with it. I'll leave the rest out cuz it will sound rude.

JimT that's about right with all the up-cycling that goes on these days. Those with tons of disposable income but are non-collectors are simply looking for style bought with money without concern for content/originality.

Considering what "Rick" is selling these days on his website paying 80-100 for a bonafide shorty missing a face isn't overkill.

I like all pumps, from high end to the less desirable and obscure models. I want to be able to have as many different models as I can find pre 1970.

I bought this one a few months ago and I paid $100 maybe a little more...I forget now. In my opinion, it was money well spent.

BTW it`s a GBFMP2A4.

Looking closer at the picture you posted, appears to have stainless trim around the face plate glass. First time, I`ve seen that on one of these.
