I am in the same boat. I have a wayne 60 I have finished restoring for my rec room down stairs. But it is too tall. I would no way in hell cut on this pump, so I will cut on my ceiling. I need about 5" also and it will be alot easier and cheaper to fix the drywall than to fix that pump!

My suggestion, don't do it!!!
