Quite a few people do hook up gear motors to the computer driveshaft. That way, you can use a switch to see the computer run, and then you can reset it.

I know one gugy, Norm Huff (cmeon66), who took the extra steps to actually restore the "guts." His pumps actually run (just pumping air), so you get the truly authentic sound and feel.

Pretty much everyone wires up the lights, of course. I've heard of some people hooking their gear motor to a microswitch in the nozzle so it only runs while you're pulling the trigger.

If the pump has a sight glass or visi-gauge, I've heard of other people attaching hair dryers inside the pump to themanifold pipes. The air spins the spinners, which has got to look pretty cool, too.


The particular pump you've found sounds a little pricey. If he won't negotiate a lot, I'd hold out - you can do better price-wise.
