I would cut the top off flush and weld 6x6 1/2 thick plate in it so you can install a 4" sch 80 pipe in it to your desired height and make it a swinging style post of your desired brand . I took two wagon wheel hoops and made my HC hanger . A Little heavy and overbuilt but was super cheap . Go to farm auctions , scrap yards etc , to buy your materials .
