I thought I would post the pics of my first pump, a Gilbarco 904 which I finished today. I'm very happy overall, except the orange paint on the doors is a little darker than it should be. I used the code in the PCM book, but I guess I should have waited until I got the globe, then color matched it. Oh well, it is still good enough for me!

Thanks to Tom D., Kelly Clark and Larry Ivy for helping me find stuff I needed, and thanks to Jim Treadway for making me a SUPER 100 decal (still on the way).

I made it a point to buy reproduction stuff from Gas Pump Heaven, Vic's and Weber's. I have two old Pontiacs and like the gas pump hobby, Pontiac restoration vendors are pretty specialized. I think it is important to purchase from all of them, to help keep the hobby strong. I know I've missed a good vendor or two, but this is my first time around the block.

Clark. That's one I've never seen. Any special reason for Clark? Just curious.

My Dad, who is now 76, managed a Clark station in St. Louis in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

Real nice job! I miss the Clark station we used to have in town. The attendants used to give sticks of gum to the kids while they pumped the gas. Kept the kids quiet, the moms happy, and they sold a bunch of gas. The kids would whine if you didn't go to the "gum" station. Ahhh, memories.

Nice looking pump ,John you did good. The paint color is probably closer to correct than you think. Clark super 100 globes were very close to your pump color, you have one of the last ones Clark used,more red-orange. Still looks great, congrats''''''''Ron

Thanks for all of the kind words! I've attached a picture of Dad in the early 1950's at a St. Louis Clark station, next to a pump. The paint scheme is different than mine, as the colors switch part of the way down on all panels/doors. The globe is the SUPER 100 version and it is mounted 90 degrees to the face of the pump, which I think is pretty unusual. What brand of pump is it? Dad said he thought that back then in St. Louis Clark used Tokheims.

...and you guys are right. I'd like to do another in the not too distant future. This one was more work than I thought it would be, though.
