I have a good picture of a Rush model J. It doesn't have lights hanging over the top side and it only has two sets of gallon markers. I have noticed that some Rush pumps that I have had in the past did have additional holes in the castings allowing for 3 sets of markers. The model K has three gallon markers.
My Rush H has lights hanging over the side with two sets of gallon markers. It would have been very easy for someone to have switched tops from an H to a J. Four bolts in the top, one in the conduit and some additional wiring.
The ID tage you want is the one that looks like a comet going across the sky. The H and I have the ID tag with block letters. Models J&K have the comet type. Ron Scobie has both types.
Rush started making pumps in Portland Indiana in 1927 before moving to Lafayette, IN.
The model F was made in Portland and the J was made in Lafayette. My best quess is the H&I were made in 1928 & 1929 using the older type of ID tag and the J&K were made next using the newer looking ID tag. The comet style ID tag was used from that time on. All Rush computer pumps and clockfaces that I have seen have the comet style of ID tag.
