Hi Guys,

I have been looking for an old metal service station/building without much luck for some time now.

Do any of you have any tips on where to look for a forlorn or salvaged metal service station?

Years ago I had seen dismantled buildings in a salvage yard, but now that I have been looking actively...none in sight! (same old story)

Any tips, observations or experiences would be welcomed.

Thanks

There was one on ebay a while back out there in California. Seems like it was cheap, but nobody bid...

Gentlemen all,

Thanks for the responses so far.

I'm in Monrovia CA, in fact my street intersects with Route 66. I have a generous lot and could replicate a Route 66 scene if I could find a 40s,50s or 60s steel station like we all grew up with.

I was taken with the Texaco station at the Greenfield/Ford museum. Distance is not a problem for me if I could find a suitable candidate/candidates.

Any further gouge on when the EBAY listing was?

Thanks Again

I have an Ashland Oil porcelain building that has been dismantled. It is similar to Texaco Stations (I would consider selling if you are interested send me a message at lindatomblin@yahoo.com for details and pictures)

Camp Upshur,
A friend of mine stopped by this after noon with a couple of pictures he took on his way to my house. These are two gas stations in Monrovia. I’ll bet you know exactly where they are. This weekend I thought I might take a ride over and have a look...especially the Bennett 646 Well it looks like a 646. I’m very new to this gas pump thing!!!!
