I'm confused, that's nothing new but this is REALLY confusing ! Where does the infringement come into play ? I can buy a Harley sticker from my dealer and stick it to whatever I choose...my truck, my bike, my trailer, my head (as previously stated) but If I try to sell any of them I risk a lawsuit ? So is the issue at resale ? if extra $ is possibly made because of said sticker then watch out ?? !! And in the cases others encountered at shows, could they just not have stated "this item is not or no longer for sale, it's my personal item and my sticker and I'll put it where I want to !!! " I mean where's the rule book on where you can and cannot stick a silly sticker ? The photo included is my "hood ornament" so to speak...It's on the radiator cap of my rat/hot rod...It's obviously not "official Harley Davidson"...I bought it on eBay with no issues, and I run it on my car everywhere I go (lot's of shows) and no one has ever said anything...so again where does the "infringement" come in ? if I were to sell my car with it on ? All I know is this...God help the person who tries to ever take it off my car ...you'll see my mug shot on the evening news LOL !!!

Sometime also in the early 1990s, the Coke lawyers came into the Chicagoland show and wrote down the name of everyone who was selling Coke decals, etc. The next day an bunch of lawyers came inside with the police and confiscated everything. That is when Funtronics got really big. I have a friend who had to give up a large inventory he had, he said they scared him so much he is afraid to even drink a Coke.

You can put a Harley (or whatever brand) decal on whatever you want for your own use. You just can't sell that item with the Harley decal on it.
The repros being a little different really has nothing to do with trademark infringement. Trademark protection can be far reaching....Standard Oil Company of Indiana sued Independent Oil over the use of the Red Hat logo saying it infringed on their Red Crown trademark. Standard won that suit!
