I was out metal detecting on the side of HWY 50 near Lake Tahoe and Echo Summit. I got a target with my machine and noticed a rectangular piece of metal. I almost ignored it, but noticed it had rivets on the corners. I figured I'd just flip it over to see what it might be. It was an awesome porcelain coated flying A sign!

 Kevin, Nice sign!... It is from The Tide Water Associated Oil Company; Western Region Associated Oil... By the wings on the "Smiling Attendant’s hat badge and the striping around the sign: The sign was used between approx 1939 to early 1950s... It is a sign, I personally have been lusting after, for some time now.... LOL

Wow very nice find! I'd bet with a little bar keepers friend that sign would clean up nicely! Keep digging there might be more...
