A couple years ago we had started thread with several tips and products we use on our pumps. With all the new guys on the sight,(and us old guys too),it might be helpful to start it up again.
Yesterday I used two products that worked great. The first was "3M plastic emblem & trim adhesive".I was fighting the thin u-shaped gasket on a Wayne 70/100 window glass. It kept falling off before I could get it in the frame. After putting a thin bead on the edge of the glass it stayed in place and installed easily. The stuff is clear and any excess can be removed no problem.
The second one is "Castrol Super Clean" cleaner/degreaser.You motorheads are probably familiar with this one.I received a sample at the races and finally used it last week.It worked so well I bought three bottles! Spray it on and watch the grease melt before your eyes.I used it to clean the brown fuel stains off a glass visible cylinder that I couldn't budge with other products. And it's biodegradable.I've used it to remove caked on oil ,grime, and old diesel.
What have you guys discovered?Let's hear your ideas....Tim

Hey Tim good to hear from you. I've been using that clear stuff for years to hold gaskets while repairing cars. Good stuff. Ted

Tim,
I like your idea. I have been thinking the same thing along the line of a new thread that deals with project tips. I emailed Jim Potts to see what he thinks. Keep up that walking and see you at Fred's in Oct. Keep those 39 doors safe for me. ~Jason

Another suggestion with the u shaped rubber or any rubber that you place around pump glass is to measure it by running it around your window, cut it off just slightly saller than you need, I mean less an 1/8th or less, place a desk stapler on it and put a couple of staples into it, then its like a rubber band, put it on your glass then the pressure put on it by the fasteners keeps it from coming apart.

Billie,It works great on cans, but don't leave it on the paint too long.Have a hose handy to rinse right away, and test a small area before you spray the whole can.I have had good luck with the cans I did.
