Does anyone know where I can get an acrylic amber colored cylinder that fits inside the clear one to give the effect of being half full of gasoline?

Get some opaque (i think it is acetate) used in the sign industry. It is thin will curl around easy and should do the Cheap Trick...or is that the trick cheap..

What dodo said.

You can usually purchase the colored film at an art supply store. You will need one that caters to the professional artist - not just a store that also sells art supplies. If you can't get it there - try a photography supply house. In the photo industry it's called 'Gell' and is used over the lights to project colored areas onto the backgorund or the object in the photo.

Get a sheet, cut it to just fit the inner curcumference and simply insert it into the cylinder. You will still have a very slight seam where the two ends come together - but you can orient the seam to the back.

Last resort (and the most expensive) would be to have the inside area coated with the liquid film that some shops apply to autos for window tinting. I know that there used to be a place here in my area that had various colors that they could apply. That might be kewl if you wanted to give the effect of a 'colored' gas i.e. 'Blue Crown'.

Later . . .

Jim
