I was up in the shop the other day looking at my Wayne 40's. I had never noticed before but each one has a different set of bezels. One has a much smaller window frame and the bevel is wider next to the glass. I have an extra original face bezel and it is the larger window. I also have some repop bezels from another pump and they were cast from the larger window version as well.

I can only assume that the smaller window is an early version. Have any of you ever seen these two different sizes?

KJV Psalms 16:11

Thou wilt shew me the path of life:
in thy presence is fulness of joy;
at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Wow, I never noticed that. I just looked at a picture of a friends know early Wayne 40. It has a very low serial number and a 1932 Veeder Root in it. It has the small window. The two I have are the bigger window.

Jim, that's the larger bezel. Notice on the smaller window opening, you cannot see the face plate screws.

You never know Marshall? They can all be bought! LOL!

I had 3 and sold one, it was a large window too. I'm glad I kept the small window!

I just "HAD" to go check mine, and they both have the larger windows! Very interesting facet of these iconic pumps and I'm glad it was pointed out!

I just got back from outa town and looked at my 40. It has the big window. The faces that were on it were dented and painted black, so I got new aluminum ones. Since then something heavy fell on the old faces (witch I thought were "junk")and poked a hole in them. THEY ARE BRASS. My dad cleaned them up and polished them. WOW Are they something. "This Sale, Gallons and WAYNE" are all slightly raised lettering. Wish we would have found that out before they got messed up.

Did they use 8" computers or 10" or both?
