I picked up 2 reproduction inspection doors with the knobs and spring clips for a Tokheim 36B.

I feel dumb asking this but I can't figure out how they affix to the opening on the door skin.

Any pics showing one installed would be appreciated.

Thanks.....Dan H

I dont have a picture, but they just pop on. The spring clips are what hold them to the door.

Do the clips install on the lower or upper part of the opening?

You may have to bend the springs slightly to retension on a repop to get them to go in. I had to do that with one of mine.

Hey Dan, I can throw one of my complete doors in the car this next(Monday) and bring it with me if that would help you out! I work til 8pm so you would have time to run out if you want! LMK Steve 573 201 8444

Anyone know where I can pick up just the inspection door spring clips? I have a few that have broken so the inspection door won't stay on. Really don't want to have to buy an inspection door or two (which I don't need) just to get the clips.

Contact Tom Buckles or Ryan Underthun, both are Oldgas members.

Pretty tough to find just the springs? It would be easy to make a couple if you had some spring type stock.

I have made them out of banding material (the blue looking metal used to secure material to a pallet or whatever). Cut to width and length with some tin snips. Came out a little crude by bending them by hand but it will work. You just an original to copy from.

And to think of all the metal pallet banding I've tossed out over the years!

Since I'm not a restorer or a fabricator, I was hoping to just find some to buy (need 4) from somewhere or somebody. I do own tin snips and a drill...
