About 20 years ago I made up a number of them, but I didn't feel right about selling them so I deleted them. I just felt they would be used to jack up the prices.

I would think any good graphics dealer could make them for you. You will just need to provide a pic of what you want.

Like if you restore or add new pieces to an eco meter... seriously I don't think value is going over the moon if you add a faceplate decal to a s&p shaker.. I will check with a couple sign companies...thx

Kim, Regarding your comment "seriously I don't think value is going over the moon if you add a faceplate decal to a s&p shaker"
Since some salt and pepper sets sets have sold in excess of $2,000.00 it can be significant increase in price to "enhance" a set.
I'm not trying to imply that this is your intention in any way, but simply to inform you that salt and pepper sets can be quite expensive.
Just like the sign collectors don't like the reproduction stuff, I as a salt and pepper collector would be very apprehensive about modified s&p shakers.
Just my two cents
Regards, Jim

I guess its a matter of opinion on appearance Jim. I am not trying to make a Husky shaker out of an Esso, just add on for looks I guess. I look at it this way, if you have a Husky shaker with a faceplate decal as below, it maybe worth as an example 500 bucks. Now if that shaker is missing the decal, I will still give you 500 bucks for it as long as you provide me with a decal to put on. So IMO, the decal does not add or subtract value, just adds to appearance...but that just me.

In reply to the comment about putting a repro face on an ECO, this does not increase the value of of the ECO any more than putting on a new light wire. An ECO has a hundred or more parts, the shaker has only three parts, the large section with the holes at the top, the bottom and the decal. Collectors are looking for ones that are complete, with a nice decal.
Years ago these were a hot item. A lot of interest, even a book printed about them. This is when I copied some of the decals. But I was also reading about others who were copying things. Assuming the shaker is the same as a Phillips shaker which seems to be the most found shaker there is. Assume the color of the shaker is the same as one selling for whatever, but much more than the Phillips one is, think how easy it would it would be to remove the Phillips decal and put on one making it a rare shaker.
Twenty years ago, this was a smaller community of collectors, we knew each other, we knew who was collecting things, most of us respected each other and did not do things that would hurt other collectors.
If you think putting on a cheap reproduction decal on a worn out shaker and increasing its value, go ahead. But I didn't want any part of this, and I still won't do that.

I'm not going to get into who is correct or not correct; in this discussion.
I will say, that based on my own personal buying habits; I do know that I will pay more for an individual shaker and/or a set of shakers if the decal(s) are in good condition...
And as such; at least whereas when I am the Buyer. Decals do add to the value of a shaker or shakers and that value could be/can be greatly enhanced by a good condition, decal....

Kim, Regarding your statement that "the decal does not add or subtract value, just adds to appearance" I beg to differ. Pictured are two Direct Service sets. The set on the left has photocopies of the meters. These are not original to the set. When I bought this set I was aware of this and paid accordingly. Please note these photocopied meters were added to the set only to improve the appearance. These are not high quality copies that would fool a collector. Again, I was aware they were copies when I bought the set. The second set is completely original and I also paid accordingly. The lettering on both sets is pretty darn close, so the only difference in price would be due to the original versus replacement paper meters. I paid $300.00 more for the set with the original paper meters than I paid for the set with photocopied replacement meters. I feel that the original decal DOES add substantial value versus a replacement label. Please understand I am not trying to pick a fight on this subject, you are completely free to do whatever you want with your stuff. I just want to make it clear that from a collectors standpoint there is a huge difference between 100% original and altered/modified. If/When I trade or sell my Direct Service set with the photocopied meters I will make sure that the fact the labels are replacements will be fully understood by the buyer.

...I think it makes a difference...those shakers were cheaply-made, expendable giveaways...the reason the ones in nice shape bring what they bring, is not 'few were made, therefore, they are rare'; on the contrary, many were made - few survived...and only a tiny percentsge of those survived in excellent condition...vintage toys with original paint and decals in nice condition command a higher price than repainted/redecaled examples...collectors like originality...

Well I guess to each his own opinion, I would take either set you posted, as I'm buying the company not the generic face plate.
You do have more believers than me, lol, so if any out there have any rare shakers they want to discount because of the face plate being damaged or missing, I'm your guy. Shoot me a pm...
