Since some salt and pepper sets sets have sold in excess of $2,000.00 it can be significant increase in price to "enhance" a set.
I'm not trying to imply that this is your intention in any way, but simply to inform you that salt and pepper sets can be quite expensive.
Just like the sign collectors don't like the reproduction stuff, I as a salt and pepper collector would be very apprehensive about modified s&p shakers.
