I found this on craigslist. Here is a great opportunity to buy an original prefab gas station. I am willing to provide free help in the form of experience I have had in moving similar buildings.

Actually I think a deal can be made because there is a short deadline for removal. If anyone is interested they should make an offer because they need to be moved soon.

Looks like some cool buildings if a collector could make a deal and drag them home. The pictures sure don't show much. The one with a fence in the foreground is one of the worst "for sale" photos I've seen. Might get a better view on Google Maps Street View. Full Size Street View

I have these buildings given to me if I can move them. Is there anyone out there that would like them? I live 12 hours away and it may not work out for me to get there in time to take down. If you are interested contact me and I will help make arrangements for you to get them. Long way from Portland Oregon, but that was our business of Hand deconstruction. These would be very easy to do and store in a container. In fact a ABF upack would hold both. Biggest draw back would be the Roof on the flat building if there was asbestos in it. Older hot tar roofs were notorious for that.
Just unbolt this and store.

This is GREAT news! I was hoping the buildings could be saved and glad to hear they are. It would have been a heck of a shame if they were demolished.

Then with the help of Lee Hoover we spent the last week and a half in Delaware, Ohio dismantling them and hauling home. The lubritorium will be rebuilt at Lees place and station will be rebuilt at my place.

Columns and soffit up today. did you or are you going too add power 110 (underground) before you pour the cement? shouldn't your forms be on the other side of the pedestal's of the building? don't know how much rain you get there but think of runoff.. awesome project- keep us posted with pictures as you go along - I'm jealous .. ...

Floating slab for interior floor. If you place the weight of the walls and roof on it by extending it out, the settlement will happen at the edges causing the slab to bust up in the middle of the floor due to the edges settling and the center not. I purchased a building built that way and it stinks having cracks through center of my building slab from edge to edge in multiple directions. Probably three inches higher in the center of my building than the edges now after 20 years of settlement.

Making progress on the Octagon station. With the help of my wife Jane I got the soffit tin installed. And with the help of my friend Dave I got the roof sheathing added.
