While I was at Iowa Gas this year, a friend told me about a very rare Cities Service Station in Correctionville, Iowa, and said that if I had any extra time at all, it would be worth the stop!
I decided to adjust my return route and take a few minutes to stop and see this wonderful piece of Petroliana Architecture, and I'm sure glad I did!
There wasn't anyone around to get an inside tour from, so I had to be satisfied with pictures!
If you ever have a chance, its only about 1/4th mile off the 4 lane highway 20 that goes right thru Correctionville, Iowa.

Always knew this was here, but saw the property was for sale yesterday so I felt comfortable stopping and taking a peek/snapping a few pics. Station is in rough shape with a bad roof over the office area. From what I could see through the windows, the lifts are still in the floor, minus their arms. The original island (minus the pumps) is still there, but is now at the shoulder of the current highway. Just outside of Boonville NY on NYS 12.
