Next week I'm going to buy one of these. Does anybody know if a "parts book" exists with exploded views and a list of all the parts/bolts etc. I have one of these for the bennett 1066 I'm restoring right now and it has made the resto much easier for a 1st timer. If they are out there where can I get a copy? Also for those that have one can you tell me how big the base is, I am going to make a spot for it and would like to know how big it is... thanks!

MM, mine is 21 wide by 17 deep. Mine has a short 3 1/2 in. high pressed steel base. I know they made several different bases which might be a different size. If you're like most of us you'll make room for the "new pump". Good luck and be sure to post some pics.

Thanks for those dimensions! My plan is to have it outside for now and display it unrestored... eventually I'll restore it but after doing my first pump I want to take a break... I'm going to put a pad in outside to set it on, thats why I needed the dimension of the base.

Mike618b, He has several... one with the ad glass top and one without. I am probably going to buy the one with the top... I don't plan to restore it anytime soon so I'm going to display with the top and put ad glass in it for now... eventually I want to get a repo "mobilgas" top for it as I like them...

billyd, I looked at that website and didn't see any parts catalog mentioned... I looked under general parts for M&S 80 and saw nothing?

Try this web site I went on there and if you look around on the part about gas pump info ther is a place to email them.Jack Sim seems to know a lot about lit. on pumps and if any one will have it or know where to get it he will.

There's really not much to the M&S 80's that you keep after you strip out the pumping mechansim. Just the upper junction box and wiring conduit assembly and the VR unit.

The top and sides attach with sheet metal screws to the frame and the doors have really kewl hinges. Take a picture of the hinge assemblies BEFORE dissassembly as they feature dual pivot plates as part of hinge unit. You need to put these back in the correct orientation to get the door swing correct.

This particular pump came with numerous bases. I have personaly seen the short stamped base, the tall stamped base, the tall cast base, and a base designed to be sunk into a concrete pad.

I like to set my 80's on a piece of cement patio block about 24" square. It mimics the look of being on the cement pad at the gas station - and it helps make the pump a little more 'solid' when it's sitting on carpet.

Then you get into the tops. Plain tops with and without globe holders, tall tops with and without sight glass inserts and with and without globe holders, Ad Glass tops, Script tops . . .

But they make a very kewl display pump when they're finished. Make sure to post a shot of the pump after you get it. And one of the finished restoration.
