Trying to remove the top drum of an Eco Islander to access two of the four bolts that go into the cap. The bottom drum came out easily but I'm having difficulty getting the top one out. Any suggestions or tricks for removal? Thanks.

On the top drum there is a set screw that is on the out side of the main frame that keeps the drum from turning. Once you remove that screw then turn the top portion of the brake drum counter clockwise to release the drum . Both the top drum and bottom drum use the same method for removal. Some times when you spin the bottom drum clockwise to much it bend the middle support brace that makes it difficult to remove the top drum.

Ok, thanks. I had removed the set screw & the drum turns freely but seemed to be attached at the top center. Appears it may just be rust. I’m guessing the top of the drum just has a short stem that sits in the dimple of the top plate as the bottom does?

Yes, you are correct. The small extension or dimple of the brake drum extends into the hole in the top plate once you counter clockwise just the brake drum and it still will not lower the drum it is probably rusted in place. Try spraying same lubricant into this area then pry between the top of the brake drum and the top plate to remove the drum assembly. Good Luck.
