5. Once gutted, remove the computer. Use high pressure air to blow it off. Then you can either soak it in a 5 gallon bucket of kerosene or spray it heavily with WD40. Also remove the light bar and sight manifold. There has been a lot of questions on removing the sight glass without breaking the glass. Sometimes you can use a punch and hammer to loosen the keeper ring. If you can't move it, Larry showed me that you can cut the housing with a hack saw to give some relief to the ring then try the punch again. The ones on the A-1 were so hard I cut both sides of the housing to remove the glass. The housing is covered so you can never see the saw marks anyway. It's better to save the glass because you cannot find it anywhere.
6. Now you're ready to take it to the powder coater for blasting. If you would rather do it yourself, that's fine too. But at my age I'd rather pay 100.00 than spend days cleaning with stripper and thinner, then sanding.
