Yes I know we have discussed this before so call me a slow learner. Below are pics of the gap between the door and the trim piece, the trim piece w/clips (GM) and a door henge. How do I raise the door up?

there should be a lever mounted to the frame rail and a device that mounts to the base and a bar in between if my memory serves me correctly.The lever will be near the access door...that is what the small door is for .. access to the door closures.

Thanks guys, I knew all the parts involved just didn't understand the closure raised the door into position. It is still tuff to get it just right, one door fits better than the other. I guess I know which side will be front, lol. Still, the best site on the web!

This door latch assy. can be adjusted. There is a bolt that attaches it to the base, loosen it up. Then opposite your pivot point there is a piece that sticks up that is bent back towards the door, this is what catches the door slot. Adjust it so it catches the door, and the door is tight against the side pannel. Then tighten the bolt back down. When you pull up on the lever the middle piece of metal that sticks up will lift the door up into the top trim. If your door is warped you may have to push in on the top of the door so it will fit. If it still does not fit, then you will have to loosen the nuts that hold the top trim piece in place and slide the top trim down. Richard

I don't know what the engineers were thinking when they came up with that design.As comic book guy would say....

Mick, I used to put a washer or two (can't remember) behind the top trim piece to being it out just a hair. Nothing like that freshly painted, shiney door top rubbing against the trim!!

Gary I do just about the same except I take an old tire tube and cut it up so it's the same size as the original rubber spacer. Will put one or two to gain the extra 1/8". Richard
