How do you tell? If it's an original or reproduction item. It is GLASS.

Any help would be great!

Thanks
Rich

Welcome!

By the way, the reason that members are saying "real" is that, by their knowledge, nobody has made an unmarked reproduction yet of this particular lens.

That's a cool lens!

The story is. I found it in my wifes uncles barn over labor day. It was in a box. Again any idea of the year?

It's from around 1930 (plus or minus a year or two).

Wes is pretty close. Wadhams was acquired by Vacuum Oil in 1930. Vacuum & Socony merged in 1931. Metro was a Socony-Vacuum lower grade/priced gasoline. I'd guess the earliest date at 1932 and know for sure that Wadhams Metro was still sold thru at least 1937......
