A new member, Rebicmatt, has been sending PM messages to numerous members this morning with offers to sell hard to find items from a third party. Forum moderators warn that this is a situation that has caused problems in the past and should be avoided. Rebicmatt is no longer a member of this forum.

Unfortunately the scammer will be persistent and try joining again. A good reminder to all members to use caution in dealing with a new member or one of his ilk.

YES! Report any suspicious PM's to Jim immediately, so he can keep others from possibly having a bad experience.
As Jim noted, this latest creep was a new member. I think experience on other forums will show that most scammers are new joiners with no or very few posts. I'm a member of an old car forum that requires a user to have five or six posts before they can SEND a PM. However, they can RECEIVE PM's immediately upon joining. This system isn't perfect, but it has reduced this scamming activity quite a bit. John
